Montana Countries	Geographically, Montana is a large state. For visitors, the state has been broken up into several “countries”, each with their own distinctive features, scenery and attractions. The “countries” are shown below:

	Map of Gold Country, central Montana area where the state capital Helena is located, named Gold Country as this was one of the larger gold rush areas in the western frontier in the 1800’s.
